“rings” refers to the rings mobile application, the ringsdating.com website, and related services. This privacy policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your information.

This policy applies to all users of the rings app and the ringsdating.com website.

  • Account information: Including (but not limited to) name, phone number, email address, date of birth, and gender.
  • Profile information: Including (but not limited to)  bio, height, job title, company name, home town/city, profile photos (up to 6), prompt responses, interests, and preferred gender for matching.
  • Verification selfie: A photo used solely to verify your identity.
  • Messages: Including (but not limited to) chat messages, reactions, and replies sent to other users.
  • Reports and feedback: Information you provide when reporting a user or submitting feedback.
  • Website forms: This includes any information you submit via a form on ringsdating.com.

Information collected automatically

  • Location data: Your approximate location (latitude and longitude) used for distance-based matching.
  • Usage data: Swipe activity, matches, profile views, interaction patterns, and feature usage.
  • Device information: Push notification tokens, device type, and app state (foreground/background).
  • Online status: Whether you are currently active in the app, including typing indicators.
  • Website data: Pages visited, browser type, and IP address when using ringsdating.com.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your account.
  • Display your profile to other users and facilitate matching based on your preferences, location, and age range.
  • Enable messaging and real-time features such as presence indicators and typing status.
  • Process identity verification.
  • Provide premium features and analytics to rings orbit subscribers, including profile performance metrics and interaction data.
  • Process subscription payments through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store (via RevenueCat).
  • Send push notifications for new matches, messages, and likes (based on your notification preferences).
  • Respond to contact form inquiries, manage our waiting list, and analyse survey responses to improve the app.
  • Review reports and enforce our Terms of Service.
  • Improve, maintain, and secure the app and website.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data.

We may share your information with:

  • Other users: Your profile information, photos, and messages are visible to users you match and interact with.
  • Service providers: We use third-party services to operate rings, including (but not limited to):
    • Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage)
    • RevenueCat (subscription and payment management)
    • Sightengine (image moderation)
    • Expo (push notifications)
    • WP Engine (web hosting)
  • Law enforcement: We may disclose information if required by law or if we believe it is necessary to protect the safety of our users or the public.

Data Storage and Security

  • App data (accounts, profiles, messages, and matches) is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure.
  • Photos are stored in secure cloud storage with access controls.
  • Website data (contact form submissions, waiting list entries, and survey responses) is hosted on WP Engine’s managed WordPress platform.
  • We use encryption and industry-standard security measures to protect your data across both platforms.
  • While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access your data: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Update your data: Edit your profile information at any time through the app.
  • Delete your data: Request deletion of your account and all associated data through the app settings or by contacting support@ringsdating.com. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible.
  • Manage notifications: Control which notifications you receive (such as matches, messages, likes, emails, and promotions) in your app settings.
  • Pause your profile: Temporarily hide your profile from other users using the break feature.

Data Retention

  • We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active.
  • When you delete your account, your data is scheduled for immediate permanent deletion.
  • We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as resolving disputes or enforcing our terms.
  • Website form submissions (contact, waiting list, and survey responses) are retained for as long as necessary to fulfil their purpose.

Children’s Privacy

rings is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

  • Remember your preferences.
